– Can you introduce yourself in a few words?

I’m Sinda Hichri, a PhD student at LCIS. My research topic is “Cross-Layer Intrusion Detection in Drone Swarm Wireless Networks”. I have been interested in pursuing an academic career since my first year of engineering. That’s why, despite the social pressure to work in industry, I decided to follow my goal of becoming a researcher.

– What is your background (education, experience, etc.)?

I completed a pre-engineering degree in Physics & Technology in 2022 before joining the National Engineering School of Sousse (Tunisia), where I specialized in Industrial Electronics. During my graduate year, I earned a scholarship for an exchange program at Grenoble INP – Esisar, majoring in Electronics, IT, and Embedded Systems. That’s when I packed my bags and moved to France.

I completed my final-year internship at Eaton Industries and graduated in 2025 with an engineering/master degree. My work focused on Artificial Intelligence applied to Embedded System Network Security. My thesis was entitled:
“Edge AI for Predictive Maintenance: A Comprehensive Workflow for Anomaly Detection in Electric Vehicle Charging Stations’ WiFi Networks.”

– What skills can you share?

If you’re working in embedded systems or robotics and need help grasping AI fundamentals to advance your research, don’t hesitate to reach out. I’m also highly interested in Computer Vision and hardware network security: topics we can discuss over a cup of coffee in the break room!

During my first year, my desk will be located in Building “D”, 1st floor, Open Space area, where I’ll be regularly present. After that, you can inquire about my office at the welcome desk.

– Would you like to share anything else (an experience, a passion, something personal, etc.)?

Beyond research, I enjoy crafting activities (paper quilling, clay modeling, crocheting…), traveling, and swimming. I’m also currently learning to play the guitar. And finally, I’m a huge Harry Potter fan!
